Seriously. I would like you to listen to this song: [link] then look me in the eyes and tell me again that all vocaloid is J-pop.

[link] Or this song.

[link] Or this one.

[link] Or this.

[link] Or how about this? It's not even in Japanese!

[link] This one's in Spanish. Or does Spanish = Japanese now?

[link] And this one's Korean! But obviously Japan is the only important Asian country, amirite?

[link] This is opera. Opera. Let that sink in for a moment.

[link] ...Okay, now we're just getting silly.

Seriously though. As stated on another Vocaloid stamp of mine, I can understand disliking Vocaloid because of the stupid fans, or because you find the electronic quality of their singing to be grating. I think both of these are totally understandable reasons.

However, "I hate it because it's all shitty J-Pop" is not a goddamn valid reason. :stare: Vocaloids are distributed to anyone willing to shell out $150. That means that any musician with enough money can get their hands on it and make songs with it. This results in pop, electronic, metal, folk, opera, etc.

Vocaloid is an instrument, just like a guitar, and trying to take something as versatile as a vocalist (even a synthesized one) and confine it to one goddamn genre is fucking stupid. Vocaloid music can be any musical genre at any degree of skill. So how about you look past the popular J-Pop vocaloid songs like Melt or Love is War before making a goddamn blanket statement?

Saying all vocaloid music is J-Pop is like saying all music with guitar is heavy metal. And my reply to both of these statements would be one and the same: STFU and GTFO. :|

do the songs from Tomodachi Life/Tomodachi Collection/Tomodachi Collection: New Life count as vocaloid because they use electronic voice software?
